"This is RuptureFarms. They say it's the biggest meat-processing plant on Oddworld. I used to work here. Well, I was really a slave, like all the others."
This is one of the levels in the game
where quite a bit of dying is involved. In this area, unlike others, it matters
more how fast you do something rather than what you do. A
walkthrough is of little aid, but there are some pointers that can be
given to enhance performance.
You are not being timed yet. Walk to
the right.
Screen Two (446)
Once you enter that door, the timer
will start. The game gives you two minutes until the gas is released. Use that
time wisely…
Enter the door. When you come out at
the lower level, run off the ramp, to the left.
Screen Three (447)
Turn around and run to the right, off
the platform.
Here is where your observation skills
are needed. Lots of people don’t see this, but there is a small ledge right by
the timer display. You need to run-jump onto that ledge. When that is
accomplished, walk to the left. You will fall down a level.
Screen Four
(448)
Walk up to the lever and pull it.
Run-roll into the next screen.
Screen Five (449)
Make your way to the left, avoiding
the saws (way to state the obvious). When you reach the end of the top ledge,
stand up and press 2 times/hold down so that you drop down onto the lower
ramp. Watching the saws, jump over the mines. When you make it through (it might
be several lives later if you’re going for the first time), walk to the right.
Screen Four
(448)
Tip: ignore the timer and try not to
feel rushed, but don’t go totally slow, either, because the time is
limited. There is more than enough time to do everything.
Walk up to the mines and hold down Space
until you come up to the lever. Pull the lever, and jump over the mines back
to the left.
Screen Five
(449)
You will notice a platform has come
down. Avoiding the saws, jump over the mines and walk onto that platform. Go
down.
Screen
Six (450)
If you have less than 50 seconds left
and you’re still planning to save that one last employee, you’re, well,
doomed. Best to start over and now that you know what to do, you’ll go much
faster.
While many people think that you have
to rescue the last Mudokon to get the Shrykull rings, that is untrue. In
fact, there is only one employee in the whole game that you have to rescue…
If you do have enough time left,
though, crouch, roll through the tube. Stand up, right to the right of it.
Run-jump over the mines. Roll into the next screen.
Screen Seven (451)
Once again, stand to the right of the
tube, and run-jump over the mines. If you do not want to rescue the last
Mudokon, your journey ends here. This is what you do: stand under the loop and
press up. Immediately, as you drop down into the Boardroom, walk one step
to the right and press Ctrl. Enjoy the FMV…
If you do want to save the
Mudokon, however, get off the ledge, roll to the left (faster than walking, and
no skidding as when running).
Screen
Six (450)
Roll up to the first bomb. The
pattern is red-red-red-green-red-green-red-red-green
(this particular statement helps in that you don’t have to spend time watching
for the pattern). Be prepared to start over many times. Once you have
deactivated the bombs, say “Hello” and “Follow me” to the Mudokon, and
lead him to the right.
Screen Seven (451)
Chant and rescue Mudokon 99.
After you have the Shrykull rings (you probably barely have any time left, but
no matter), walk up to the loop, stand directly under it, and press up.
Here you have to decide: whether to
use the Shrykull or whether to not. Using it gives more of a show, but I would
recommend not using it if you have less than 5 seconds left.
If you decided to use it, then, once
you drop into the Boardroom, chant. When all the Glukkons and Sligs are dead,
walk up to the lever and pull it.
If you have not decided to, then once
you drop into the Boardroom, quickly take a step to the right and press Ctrl.
Either way, enjoy the show!
