The number in word form (One, two) indicates the procession of screens from the beginning of the level. The number in parentheses (1,2) indicates the procession of screens from the beginning of the game.

I usually don’t mark secret area screens with a number, but if there is a lot of them and there is danger of getting confused, I will label them with letters.

This part of the walkthrough contains the walkthroughs for the Paramonian Temple, the Paramonian Nests, and the short section of the Monsaic Lines that follows after.

Paramonian Temple

            Screen One (124)

Walk to the right.

             Screen Two (125)

Walk to the right.

            Screen Three (126)

Make a brief appearance, wait until the Slig yells, “Freeze!”, then run back to  the previous screen.

            Screen Two (125)

Run to the left until you reach the well. Jump into the well on the run (you should have practiced this before). When you reappear on the walkway in the background, start chanting. When the Slig is possessed, go with it to the next screen.

Shoot the Slog and get rid of your Slig.

Jump back into the well. Walk right.

            Screen Three (126)

Board the platform and go down.

After docking the platform, go right.

Walk off the top ramp, then quickly stand at the very edge of the bottom ramp and press down. Look out for the bats!

When you dropped down, the Slig should have said, “What?” and stopped. The greatest convenience is, he should have stopped right under the rock. All you have to do now is pull the lever. After the Slig is dead, walk right.

Walk right and enter door.

I shall go through the doors in this order. If this is inconvenient, any order may be chosen, but the one above is strongly recommended.

 

Trial One

              Screen One (133)

Do not go left yet. Instead, hoist up to the ramp. Look for where the debris is falling and hoist again there.

            Screen Two (134)

Grab some meat, then hoist, then hoist again.

            Screen Three (135)

Walk to the right.

            Screen Four (136)

Ignore the Paramite. Get up onto the ramp, then stand at its rightmost edge and throw your meat up.  Immediately after that, get as fast as you can to the next screen. If you have gotten there quickly enough, you will see the Paramite pressing the tile on the floor. After that, all you do is run left and onto the ramp in the previous screen. If you haven’t gotten there quickly enough, however,  you are going to have to press the tile yourself. That is a dangerous task, especially with two rabid Paramites at your feet. Once the tile has been pressed, run into the previous screen to avoid the Paramites and the rolling barrel.

Grab some meat. Now you have to decide whether or not you wish to do the secret area. If you do, follow the directions below:

Walk right.

             Screen Five (137)*

Crouch and roll right. Keep rolling until you reach the bird portal in the next screen. Chant and jump inside.

Screen A: Immediately, as you appear, roll to the right.

Screen B: As soon as you come out of the tube, run-jump onto the platform under the meat sack. Say “Hello” to one of the Mudokons, and then say “Follow Me”. You should have meat already; if, for some reason, you do not, just hit the meat sack and it will fall straight to the Paramites. If you have the meat, simply throw it down.

You must do all this quickly, or if you don’t, the Mudokon will lose interest and you will have to give the meat to the Paramites again.

Quickly, immediately after you throw the meat, run off the platform, roll through the tube, and into Screen A.

Screen A: As you appear from the tube, at once get up and start chanting. Rescue Mudokon 41. Immediately as you finish chanting, crouch and roll into the tube. If you accidentally hit yourself on the tube because you forgot to crouch first, your song is sung, because the Paramites eat very quickly. This part takes a lot of practice, luckily, you reappear not at the beginning of the level, but near the bird portal.

If you have successfully completed  the above steps, here comes the hardest part. The second Mudokon is the most difficult, because you have the least time at your command. Repeat the steps again with Mudokon 42.

Mudokon 43 is a little different. The first steps are the same — Say “Hello, Follow me” and throw the meat to the Paramites. But when he follows you into Screen A, don’t stop near the tube, but roll all the way to one step away from your portal. Now stand up and chant. Rocks will start falling right by where you are standing. If you linger, the rocks will squash you flat. Press Space.

Roll under the overhang.

Walk left.

            Screen Four (136) 

Walk left. Get some meat.

            Screen Three (135)

Stand at the edge of the ramp and press down.

Go down.

Walk to the left.

            Screen Six (138)

Get up onto the platform and get the bell song. After you have it, come down and walk left.

             Screen Seven (139)

Make a brief appearance on the screen. When the Paramite starts hissing, quickly run into the previous screen.

Throw your meat forward. Wait until the Paramite is gone, then walk into

            Screen Seven (139)

Go down.

             Screen Eight (140)

Keep going down.

             Screen Nine (141)

Grab some meat, then run-jump onto the leftmost platform. Walk left.

            Screen Ten (142)

Run-jump off the ledge, then quickly get back on. Another Paramite will have come down. Now stand on the leftmost edge of the ledge, as far as you can go without falling, and throw the meat up. The beehive should fall on both the Paramites. After they’re dead and the bees are gone, get down and pull the lever. After you have lighted the flintlock, get the bell song. When you have done all those things, plus picked up the meat if the Paramites haven’t finished it, get back onto the ledge and walk right.

Go up.

Keep going up.

            Screen Seven (139)

Go right.

Run right.

Quickly, before the Paramite can do anything, get up onto the ledge. Go up.

             Screen Two (134)

Grab some meat, then get up.

            Screen Three (135)

Carefully jump over the hole, then go left.

             Screen Eleven (143)

Stand one step to the left of the lever, then throw the meat up. Quickly turn and pull the lever. If the meat is still uneaten, pick it up. Go into the next screen.

             Screen Twelve (144)

Step one step into the screen, then go back.

             Screen Eleven (143)

Get back to the spot one step away from the lever, and throw your meat up again. Once again, crush the Paramite, and pick up the meat. Go left.

Chant to open the chime lock. Go into the door.

 

Trial Two

              Screen One (145)

Get as far as you can without crouching on the first level, then throw your meat right. While the Paramite is eating it, roll under the overhang.

            Screen Two (146)

Pull the lever and roll back.

Hoist up onto the top ramp. Go left.

            Screen Two (146)

Ignore the Paramite. Board the platform. Go up.

            Screen Three (147)

Go up.

             Screen Four (148)

Stop the platform at the dock. Say “Hello” to the Mudokon. The password is 686867. Once you have the spirit rings, go up.

             Screen Five (149)

Go as far as the platform allows. Then, hoist where the debris is falling.

             Screen Six (150)

Chant. (Hint: crouch to avoid being thrown to the ground). When the mines are gone, get up onto the platform and pull the lever. Get some meat and go down.

Board the platform and go down.

             Screen Four (148)

Stop the platform. Once again, say the code to the Mudokon (686867) and with the spirit rings go down.

Chant. Pull the lever. Board the platform and go up again.

As soon as you land, run-jump onto the ledge.

 

Trial Three

              Screen One (152)

Go to the left.

            Screen Two (153)

Make a brief appearance. When the Slig yells, “Freeze!” , run to the right.

Run-jump onto the ramp. As soon as you stand up, chant. With the Slig, go to the left.

Shoot the other Slig. Get rid of yours.

Meat transforms into rocks in this door. If you don’t have a rock, get one from the sack. Go left.

             Screen Three (154)

Crouch. Wait until the bat is on the other edge of the screen, then wait until the ball is either behind or in front of the drop, and roll forward. Repeat the procedure two more times, then  sneak into the next screen.

            Screen Four (155)

Sneak to the order bomb. Activate it, then quickly roll to the right edge of the screen. The Slog will run after you, and get blown up in the process. Light the flintlock and get the bell song. Go to the right.

            Screen Three (154)

Crouch. Wait until the bat is on the other edge of the screen, then wait until the ball is either behind or in front of the drop, and roll forward. Repeat the procedure two more times. Go to the right.

            Screen Two (153)

Jump over the drop, then go right.

            Screen One (152)

Roll to the right.

            Screen Five (156)

Blow up the mine with the rock. Chant. Enter the door.

 

Trial Four

              Screen One (157)

Get down from the ledge. Go to the left.

            Screen Two (158)

Make a brief appearance on the screen. Quickly run to the right, jumping over the tile in the next screen.

Jump over the tile. Roll to the right.

 Roll to the right.

            Screen Four (160)

Once you get to the cluster, stop. Repeat procedure until you manage to kill the Paramite. Once it is dead, get back to Screen Two, learn the bell song and get back to Screen Four. This time, roll to the right.

            Screen Five (161)

Make a brief appearance on the screen and quickly roll to the left.

You should be able to kill the Paramite quite easily. Come back to Screen Five.

Run-jump onto the ledge, then quickly jump off. Roll to the left.

Both Paramites ought to be dead by now. If for some reason they are not, take the time to establish this truth.

Come back to Screen Five.

Light the flintlock. Go left.

Go left. Be careful of the rocks. Get up onto the ledge and chant. Enter the door.

 

Trial Five

Roll to the right, don’t stop until you are stopped.

            Screen Two (163)

If you had followed the directions above, you should be hanging off the edge of the first drop. Making sure that the bats are not directly above you, get up and crouch. Roll up to the edge of the ledge, wait until the ball is either in front or behind your path through the drop, and roll forward. Repeat procedure. When you get to the edge of the screen, stop and stand up. Run into the next screen.

            Screen Three (164)

On the run, run-jump onto the ledge (press Space when you reach the bomb). Quickly get up and hoist where the debris is falling.

            Screen Four (165)

Get up to where the bombs are and crouch next to the rightmost one. You only need to deactivate one bomb. Once you have deactivated it, step into its place and pull the lever. Now press Space two times. Walk into the next screen.

             Screen Five (166)

Stand directly under the ring. Wait until the Slog has 2 z’s floating above its head (most effective), then pull the ring. The Slog will follow very closely behind. Run into

            Screen Four (165)

Run off the ledge. You will end up hanging on the edge. Quickly get up so that the Slog sees you. If it doesn’t see you, you’re dead, so commit suicide and start all over again. If the Slog stopped on the edge of the platform, get up, jump over the bombs, and continue down.

            Screen Three (164)

If you practice a lot, you can throw yourself off the platform without waiting and without being eaten by the bat. If you haven’t practiced, however, wait until the bat is out of range, then leap off the platform. Roll into the next screen,.

             Screen Two (163)

When you are at the right edge of the rightmost drop, STAND UP, wait until the bats are on the opposite edge of the screen, until the ball is either in front of or behind the drop, and press Space. Quickly sit down. Repeat the procedure with the center and rightmost drop, but you don’t have to stand up while doing those. Sometimes, when you do it rolling, you fall off and you have to start all over again.

Roll to the left.

Go into the door.

 

Trial Six

Ignore the Paramite. Go to the left.

            Screen Two (168)

Keep going left.

            Screen Three (169)

Keep going left. When you reach the leftmost edge of the screen, slow down. Take one step into the next screen.

            Screen Four (170)

Make sure the Paramites see you, then quickly run back.

            Screen Three (169)

Go up.

             Screen Five (171)

Keep going up.

Get up onto the top ledge. Walk to the left.

            Screen Seven (173)

Walk to the left.

Prepare to run. Step onto the spot one step to the right of the lever. The barrel will roll to the left. Run to the left.

Run to the left.

Run off the edge of the ramp. You should land a cliffhanger off the edge of the right ramp. The barrel will kill the  Paramite.

Now go to the lower leftmost ramp and roll to the left.

Learn the bellsong and grab some meat. Go to the right.

Now, get up onto the top ramp. Go to the left.

Pull the lever and go right.

Get to the rightmost ledge. Jump into the well. When you show up in the background, jump into the other well.

Pull the lever to light the flintlock and jump back into the well.

When you’re in the background, jump into the other well. When you come into the foreground, get to the rightmost edge of the leftmost ledge and press down.

Go down.

Stand on the edge of the ramp and throw your meat as far as you can. When both the Paramites have gone after it, get off the ramp and run to the left.

            Screen Four (170) 

Get up onto the ledge. Chant to unlock the door. Enter the door.

 

When you come out into the hub, the upper door should open. That is the door to the Paramonian Nests. Enter that door.

 

 

Paramonian Nests

 

Here, you have to pretty much act on instinct. This isn’t really a difficult area; it only appears so because everything happens with so much speed. Strongly recommended for the first-timer — jump into the well and check out the premises so that you know what will happen.

 

            Screen One (175)

Board the platform. Go up.

             Screen Two (176)

Immediately after docking, run-jump onto the leftmost ramp, get up, turn around, jump. Run to the right.

             Screen Three (177)

The clasp in the ledge is quite visible. Make sure to jump over it. Run to the right.

             Screen Four (178)

Run-jump onto the ledge. Hoist yourself up.

             Screen Five (179)

There are two things you can do: One is safer than the other, but is slower. You choose.

1. The safer method: Stay hanging off the edge of the ramp (do not get up). Keep waiting. Soon, the Paramites will run off the edge of the ramp and you can get up safely.

2. The quicker method: Very quickly, before the Paramites even touch the ground, get up and run-jump onto the ledge.

Whatever you have done, now you are situated on the leftmost ledge. This can take some practice, but you need to run-jump onto the rightmost platform. Once you’re there, hoist yourself up.

            Screen Six (180)

Roll under the overhang. Once again, there are two things you can do: either wait for the Paramites to run off the ledge or very  quickly roll past them. Roll off the top ledge and run to the left.

Jump over the drop and run-jump onto the ledge.  Roll to the left.

Roll to the left.

            Screen Nine (183)

Roll off the edge of the ramp. Run to the left.

             Screen Ten (184)

 Run-jump onto the ledge. Quickly jump into the well.

            Screen Eleven (185)

Get some meat and jump into the other well.

            Screen Twelve (186)

This is the only time in the game when you get two pieces of meat at once (except if you have done the Killing Bonus). Use this and throw both of them in quick succession. While the Paramites are eating, get down and enter the door.

Chant. Jump into the bird portal (make sure not to miss it). Enjoy the FMV. 

 

 

Monsaic Lines
