The number in word form (One, two) indicates the procession of screens from the beginning of the level. The number in parentheses (1,2) indicates the procession of screens from the beginning of the game.

I usually don’t mark secret area screens with a number, but if there is a lot of them and there is danger of getting confused, I will label them with letters.

This part of the walkthrough contains the walkthroughs for the Scrabanian Temple, the Scrabanian Nests, and the short section of the Monsaic Lines that follows after.

 

Scrabanian Temple

Screen One (252)*

*. Roll to the left. Chant to open the portal and jump in.

Screen A: Chant to possess the Slig. With the Slig, run to the left and blow up the mine. With Abe, get off the ledge. Make an appearance on Screen B, then quickly turn back. On Screen A, chant to open the portal. Once again, step into Screen B. A Slog will come out of the Slog hut. Run to the right. Screen A: Run-jump onto the ledge. Wait until the Slog is directly below you , then run-jump off the ledge and run to the left.

Screen B: Stop under the ledge. Chant to possess the Slig. With the Slig, go into Screen A. Shoot the Slog, then run into Screen B. Run through to about halfway across the screen, then stop and let the Slog kill your Slig. Once you come into possession of Abe again, get up onto the ledge. Chant to rescue Mudokons 44 and 45. When you have finished chanting, the Slog should run under the ledge. Run-jump off the ramp and run to the right.

Screen A: Run to the right, run-jump into the portal. (end *)

 

Note the large rocks behind you. Those were placed there for you to hide from Slig fire. Use them wisely.

Ducking under the rocks, make your way through the screen.

 

            Screen Two (253)

Roll to the right, stopping at the rocks occasionally. Stop at the large rock by the mine. Stand up and press Space. After you have jumped over the mine, press Enter or X again. Roll to the right.

             Screen Three (254)

Roll to the right.

             Screen Four (255)

Immediately roll up to the bomb. It blinks green after every three red blinks. Once you have deactivated the bomb, roll up to the left edge of the screen. Chant, ignoring the security orb. After you get to your feet, run to the right, run-jump over the mines, and run to the right.

            Screen Five (256)

Run to the right, run-jump over the mine, and make a running enter into the door.

I will go through the doors in this order, although any order may be chosen.

 

Trial One

           Screen One (258)

Run-jump off the ledge, hitting the rock sack. Pick up the rock. Hop off the leftmost edge of the lower ledge.

            Screen Two (259)

Quickly run to the right. When you are hanging off the edge of the gap, press down and immediately run to the left into the drop.

            Screen Three (260)

Crouch and roll under the overhang. Roll to the right.

            Screen Four (261)

Keep going to the right.

            Screen Five (262)

Crouch about two steps away from the land mine, then throw your rock forward. After the mine is gone, roll forward, stand in front of the story stone, and press up. When you have learned the bellsong, stand where the debris is falling and press up.

            Screen Six (263)

If you want to, chant to unlock the chime lock (you can always do this later). Go to the left.

            Screen Seven (264)

Pull the lever. Go to the right.

            Screen Six (263)

Get down from the ledge.

             Screen Five (262)

Go to the left.

             Screen Four (261)

Go to the left. When you reach the overhang, crouch and keep going to the left.

             Screen Three (260)

Stand where the debris is falling and press up.

            Screen Two (259)

Wait for a few minutes and see how far the Scrab goes on each round. When it is at its farthest, quickly get up and run-jump onto the edge of the gap. Pull yourself up and go to the right.

             Screen Seven (264)

Go to the right, jump, go to the right.

             Screen Six (263)

Chant (if you haven’t done this already). Go to the  right, enter the door.

Trial Two

              Screen One (265)

Once you appear outside the door, run to the left and run-jump off the ledge, as far as you can (which should be one step in front of the lever). Press Ctrl and  run-jump back. Without stopping, run through the top portion of the ledge and run off its edge, landing yourself right before the well. Jump into the well. When you come out, jump into the top well.

             Screen Two (266)

Walk through the screen to the other well in the background. Jump into it. When you come out in the foreground, stand in front of the story stone and press up. After you have learned the bellsong, wait until the Scrab is directly under you, or perhaps, a little behind, and run-jump off the ledge. Run to the left.

            Screen Three (267)

Wait until the Scrab is anywhere but in front of the well, then walk off the ledge. You should land right in the well.

Wait until the Scrab is near the leftmost edge of the screen, then pull the lever, and quickly run to the right.

            Screen Two (266)

Run-jump onto the ledge. Wait until the Scrab is near the rightmost edge of the screen, then run-jump off the ledge, and run to the left.

            Screen Three (267)

Run to the left; make a running enter into the well.

            Screen Four (268)

Pull the lever and walk off the right edge of the ledge.

Wait until the Scrab is near the leftmost edge of the screen, pull the lever, and run to the right.

Make a running enter into the leftmost well.

Pull the lever. Stand at the edge of the ledge and press down.

            Screen Two (266)

Wait until the Scrab is near the rightmost edge of the screen, then run-jump off the ledge. Run to the left.

Wait until the Scrab is near the leftmost edge of the screen, then pull the lever and run to the right.

Run to the right. Run-jump onto the ledge, then, when the Scrab is near the rightmost edge of the screen, run-jump off of it and run to the left.

Run to the left. Make a running enter into the well.

            Screen Four (268)

Stand where the debris is falling and press up.

Chant to unlock the chime lock. Enter the door.

Trial Three

              Screen One (270)

Wait until the bomb is above the diagonal between you and the drop, and run off the ledge. You should fall down through

…, and catch the lower ledge. Press down.

             Screen Three (272)

The Slig in the foreground shall be referred to as Slig A, and the one in the background is Slig B. Wait until Slig B is on the left side of the screen and facing that way, and Slig B is walking toward the X on the floor. When Slig B crosses the line just before the X, press up to make him stop and say, “What?”. Then walk up to the lever and pull it. Quickly go back.

You should be standing against the wall so that Slig B cannot shoot you. When Slig B is on the left half of the screen and is walking toward the left wall, not away from it, make a running jump off the ledge and run to the left.

             Screen Four (273)

Make a running enter into the well. When you come out in the background, chant to possess the Slig. With the Slig possessed, stand to the right of the lever. Get ready to fire. Pull the lever and immediately start shooting. When all the Slogs are dead, walk with the possessed Slig to the right.

             -Screen Three (272)

Shoot the other Slig and kill your Slig.

             Screen Four (273)

Get down from the ledges and go to the right.

Put your hand to the story stone by pressing up and learn the bellsong. Jump into the well.

Chant to unlock the chime lock and enter the door.

Trial Four

            Screen One (275)

Stand on the edge of the ledge and pres down.

             Screen Two (276)

Wait until the Scrab is directly below or to the right of you, and run-jump off the ledge. Run to the left.

            Screen Three (277)

Keep running, then run-jump onto  the ledge near the center of the screen. Stand where the debris is falling, then press up.

            Screen Four (278)

Walk to the left.

             Screen Five (279)

Go left, jump, go left. Crouch and roll to the left.

             Screen Six (280)*

Chant to open the portal. Jump into the portal.

Screen A: When you come out, say “Hello” to the Mudokon. Then, say “Follow Me” and lead him to the left.

Screen B: Tell him to wait near the portal. Go to the right.

Screen A: Walk to the edge of the ramp. When the Scrab is at its farthest to the right, quickly press down and roll to the left right through the tube.

Screen B: If you stopped before rolling off the ramp, roll off the ramp.

Screen C: You should have caught the ledge upon falling from Screen B. Quickly get up and walk to where the debris is falling. Press up.

Screen B: This part may be a little difficult. You have to catch the precise moment when you can get up without getting yourself blown up. Press up at the exact moment when the bomb is directly above you. What happens most of the time is, you get up, but your feet snag onto the bomb as it’s making its way down. If that did not happen, you should be safe on the top ramp. Chant and rescue Mudokon 46. Now, walk up to the edge of the ramp. When the bomb is directly below you, press down two times. You should make it past the bomb safely. Drop down.

Screen C: Chant to open the portal. Stand on the rightmost edge of the ramp. When the Scrab is at its farthest to the right, press down two times. Run towards the portal and run-jump inside.

             Screen Six (280)

Roll to the right.

             Screen Five (279)

Go right, jump, go right.

             Screen Four (278)

Stand at the edge of the ledge and press down two times.

            Screen Three (277)

Only one Scrab should be there. Wait until it is on the right half of the screen but not yet at the next screen and run off the ledge. Make sure the Scrab sees you and runs after you. Run to the left.

            Screen Seven (281)

Run-jump onto the ledge. Wait until there is only one Scrab left. Once again, when it is on the left half of the screen, run off the ledge, making sure it sees you. Run to the right.

            Screen Three (277)

Run to the right.

             Screen Two (276)

Run to the right.

            Screen Eight (282)

Run to the right, run-jump onto the ledge. While the Scrabs are fighting, carefully get off the ledge and jump into the well.

            Screen Five (279)

Walk off the ledge. Pull the lever.

             Screen Four (278)

Walk up to the story stone and learn the bellsong. Walk to the right.

             Screen One (275)

Jump into the well.

            Screen Eight (282)

Wait until the Scrab is directly below you, then run-jump off the ledge and run to the left.

Run to the left.

Run-jump onto the ledge. Chant to unlock the chime lock. Wait 1 second (1-mississippi) after the Scrab has gone out of the screen, then walk off the ledge, turn left, and make a running enter into the door.

Trial Five

              Screen One (283)

Run to the right.           

            Screen Two (284)

Run to the right.

            Screen Three (285)

Run-jump onto the ledge and pull the lever. When the Scrabs have finished fighting, get off the ledge and run to the left, making sure the Scrab sees you.           

            Screen Two (284)

Run to the left. 

            Screen One (283)

Run-jump onto the ledge. Board the platform and go up.

            Screen Four (286)

Dock the platform and walk to the left.

            Screen Five (287)

Immediately, as soon as you appear on the screen, turn back and run.

            Screen Four (286)

Execute the running roll and roll under the overhang. While the Scrab is standing on the platform, stand up and pull the lever. Wait several seconds, then bring the platform back up again by pulling the lever one more time. Roll out from under the overhang and go to the left.

             Screen Five (287)

Walk up to the story stone and learn the bellsong. There is also a secret area here. Board the platform that the Scrab came on and go down.

            Screen Six (288)*

Chant to open the portal and jump inside.

* Chant to open the portal below you. Now stand on the edge of the ledge and press down once, so that the Scrab sees you and jumps over to your side. Before it can kill you, get up quickly. Say “Hello” to one of the Mudokons and then say “Follow me”. You must act quickly, or the Mudokon will lose interest. Stand on the edge of the ramp. When the Scrab is to the right of you, not below you, press the left arrow key and quickly run to the left, run-jump, run to the left, run-jump again, and run-jump onto the ledge on the second screen. Get up, chant, and rescue Mudokon 47. Stand on the edge of the ramp, wait until the Scrab is behind you, press the right arrow key, and quickly start running. Run-jump over the gap, run to the right. On the first screen, run-jump again, then run-jump onto the ledge.

                                                Repeat procedure with Mudokons 48 & 49.

After all three of the Mudokons are rescued, jump back into the portal.

When you reappear in the Scrabanian Temple, hoist back onto the platform and go up.

Dock the platform and walk right.

             Screen Four (286)

Board the platform and go down.

             Screen One (283)

Without waiting for the Scrabs to finish, run-jump off the ledge and run to the right.

Run to the right.

             Screen Three (285)

Run-jump onto the ledge. Run to the right, off the ledge.

             Screen Seven (289)

Chant to unlock the chime lock. Enter the door.

Trial Six

             Screen One (290)

Stand on the edge of the ledge and pres Space. Press down 4 times, until you drop down into the lower screen.

             Screen Two (291)

Make sure the Scrab sees you and quickly run off the left ledge and run-jump onto the right ledge. Stay hanging off the edge until the Scrab falls off the ledge. Keep in mind that the Scrab may not have seen you, and therefore will not move, in which case you will have to repeat the procedure. At the moment when the Scrab falls off the ledge, get onto the ledge. Pull the lever to ignite the flintlock. Wait until the Scrab is directly below you, then run-jump off the ledge and run to the left.

Run to the left.

             Screen Four (293)

Run to the left, mind the drop. Keep going to the left.

             Screen Five (294)

Run-jump onto the ledge. Put your hand to the story stone to learn the bellsong. After you have learned the bellsong, wait for the Scrab to come to the right half of the screen, then run-jump off the ledge and run to the left.

            Screen Six (295)

Run-jump onto the ledge. Chant to unlock the chime lock. Enter the door.

Run to the right. Run-jump onto the ledge, hoist up, and go to the right.

             Screen Four (306)

Stand on the edge of the ledge and press down. Jump over the drop, and go right.

             Screen Five (307)

Stop at the platform and stay there for a few seconds to make sure that the Scrab sees you. While it’s running off the ledge, run-jump onto it (the ledge). When you are on the ledge, jump into the well.

            Screen Six (308)

Go to the right.

             Screen Seven (309)

Go to the right.

            Screen Eight (310)

Stand to the left of the lever, on the trap door. Wait until the Scrab is as far away from you as possible, and pull the lever. Immediately run to the left.

             Screen Seven (309)

Run-roll under the overhang. You have caught the left side of the drop. Press up. Crouch and roll to the left.

             Screen Six (308)

There is a very remote chance that you will have stopped on this screen, but if you have, press the left arrow key.

             Screen Five (307)

Wait until the Scrab is to the right of you, then run-jump off the very edge of the ledge. You should land very near the center of the platform. Make the necessary adjustments and go up.

             Screen Six (308)

Go up. 

            Screen Nine (311)

Dock the platform and chant to unlock the chime lock. Enter the door.

            Hub (257)

The center door should now be open. Go inside.

 

 

Scrabanian Nest

Here, you have to pretty much act on instinct. This isn’t really a difficult area; it only appears so because everything happens with so much speed. Strongly recommended for the first-timer — jump into the well and check out the premises so that you know what will happen.

Run to the right.

             Screen Two (313)

Keep running, make sure to jump over the gap.

             Screen Three (314)

Keep running. Jump over the drop. You can get up onto the ledge if you wish, it really doesn’t make much difference.

             Screen Four (315)

Keep running right. Jump over the gap and run-jump onto the rightmost ledge. Stand where the debris is falling and press up.

             Screen Five (316)

Press up 3 times quickly in succession. If you have done this, you should be safe on top of the platform. Go up.

             Screen Six (317)

Once you dock the platform, the Scrab will go after you. Run to the right.

             Screen Seven (318)

Run-jump onto the platform, go up.

             Screen Eight (319)

Once again, the second you dock the platform, the Scrab will be chasing you (moral of the story – be prepared). Once you dock your platform, run to the right.

             Screen Nine (320)

Another Scrab is chasing you, on the top level. This can take a little practice. Run-jump onto the ledge in front of you. Very quickly, get up and run-jump over the second gap. Run to the right.

            Screen Ten (321)

Run-roll under the overhang. Once you are past it, come out of your running-roll and run to the right.

             Screen Eleven (322)

Run to the right, run-jump onto the rightmost platform. Wait until the Scrab is under/behind you, then run-jump off and run to the left. Now, catch the leftmost platform. Wait until the Scrab walks over the trap door, then pull the lever. Rocks will start falling into the gaps. Stand on the edge of the ledge and press down two times. Do not come up to the edge of the drop. Press Space (watch out for the rocks). Press up. Now stand in the center of the middle “island” (once again, do not come up to the edge) and press Space again. Press up. Walk up to the lever and pull it. The rocks will stop falling. Jump over the rightmost gap and enter the door.

            Screen Twelve (323)

Chant to open the portal. Jump into the portal (careful not to miss).

Monsaic Lines

Now, you have the Shrykull by your side. You will need it later. You can press the 0 button right here to see what you can do, but it won’t unleash its destructive power just yet.

Walk up to the door and enter it.

Go left, jump over the gap, go left. Enter the door.
