Stockyard Escape / Free-Fire Zone

This area consists of two parts: the Stockyards, namely, the Scrab Cages, and the Free-Fire Zone.

The number in word form (One, two) indicates the procession of screens from the beginning of the level. The number in parentheses (1,2) indicates the procession of screens from the beginning of the game.  

Also, areas visited with a possessed Slig are marked with a hyphen ( - )

I usually don’t mark secret area screens with a number, but if there is a lot of them and there is danger of getting confused, I will label them with letters.

 

Stockyard Escape

              Screen One (32)

Walk left. Careful not to fall down into the pit. The meter should say, “Escapees - 28”. If it does, good work!

            Screen Two (33)

The second you appear on the screen, chant and rescue Mudokon 29. If you don’t, the Scrab will eat him. Now crouch (Don’t worry about the motion detector, the bomb will not get you while you’re rolling) and roll left.

            Screen Three (34)

Keep rolling until you fall off. The Scrab cannot eat you in the first half of the screen. See that little door? Go inside.

            Screen Four (35)

Run left.

            Screen Five (36)*

Chant. Jump into portal.

*Screen A: Chant to activate the portal. Say “Hello” and “Follow Me” to whichever Mudokon replies. Make sure the Mudokon is following you (You wouldn’t want to go all that way and come back, realizing you’d forgotten the Mudokon!), then step into the next screen and immediately come back, and do a running jump onto the ramp. When the Scrab is under the ramp, (Make sure the Mudokon is  following you!) do a running jump off the platform (to get as far away from the Scrab as possible) and run right.

Screen B: Run right.

Screen C: Run right, jump, run right.

Screen D: Run right, jump, run right, jump, run right.

Screen E: Running jump onto the ramp, then chant. Free Mudokon 30. Walk off the ramp (If you jump, you’ll hit yourself and fall, and the Scrab will eat you) and immediately start running.

Screen D: Run left, jump, run left, jump, run left.

Screen C: Run left, jump, run left.

Screen B: Run left.

-Repeat procedure with Mudokon 31. On the way back, jump into the portal.

            Screen Five (36)

Run right.

            Screen Four (35)

Run right, go into door.

            Screen Three (34)

Walk left a little, hoist. Walk left, right up to the edge of the ledge. Hop and immediately hoist. Now run left.

            Screen Four ( 35)

Keep running, jump at end of platform. Run, with the Scrab going after you. Make a running jump onto the platform. Run left.

            Screen Five (36)

In this screen the bomb will get you, even if you’re crouching, if you move when the red motion detector touches you. Carefully walk your way through the screen, and don’t get eaten by the Scrab.

            Screen Six (37)

Run left, jump, run left.

            

Free-Fire Zone

            Screen Seven (38)

Walk left, jump, walk left. Sneak into next screen.

            Screen Eight (39)

There is a shortcut to do this screen, you can find it here. Sneak up to the mine. Jump and carefully but quickly walk off the ledge, so you hang down on the side. When the Slig walks into Screen Nine, get up and quickly get into the shadow. When Slig walks back and his back is turned, sneak out of the shadow and into

            Screen Nine (40)

Hide in shadow (prepare yourself) Just as soon as the Slig’s heel disappears off Screen Nine, roll forward and crouch in shadow on the first level.  When the Slig comes back AND his back is turned, roll into…

            Screen Ten (41)

Quickly get up and jump over mine. Climb down.

            Screen Eleven(42)*

*Chant, let the orb strike you. A bird portal will open. Jump into it.

 Screen A: As soon as you reappear, jump! Wait until the Slig is gone, then get  up quickly  and walk to the very right edge of Screen A.

When the Slig comes back to Screen A, step immediately into

Screen B: Start running, and right before you get to the edge of the pit, jump! You should not fall but hang on the edge.

    Note: I will refer to the top Slig as Slig 1, and the bottom Slig as Slig 2.

Wait until both Sligs are gone, then get up, hoist yourself onto the top ramp, run left, and stay at the very left edge of Screen B.

When  Slig 1 returns, step into Screen A. Wait, once again, for Slig 1.

As Slig 1 comes back from his watch, quickly run into Screen B, tell one of the Mudokons to follow you to the left edge of Screen B, tell him to wait. All this you must do before Slig 1 comes back.

                                                —Repeat procedure with other Mudokon.

This time, when Slig 1 is out, activate the bomb. When he comes back, step briefly into Screen A, then sneak back. Watch Slig 1 blow up.

Rescue Mudokons 32 and 33.

When Slig 2 goes into Screen A ,  come up to the bottom edge of Screen B, and when Slig 2 comes into Screen B, run into Screen A and into the portal.

            Screen Eleven (42)

Sneak left.

            Screen Twelve (43)

Keep sneaking left, although the Sligs are staring you. When you are one step out of the shadow, the Slig will see you and yell, "Freeze!" Run to the right.

            Screen Eleven (42)

Wait until the crazed Slig runs into your screen, then run to the left.

            Screen Twelve (43)

Ignore the other Slig - just keep on running. When it already starts shooting, it should be too late. Once safe on the ledge, walk into the next screen.

            Screen Thirteen (44)

Run left (you are welcome to stop and admire this screen at any time).

            Screen Fourteen(45)*

* Wait until the bats are gone. Hang down from first ledge and fall. Hang down from second ledge and fall. As soon as you’re there, walk up to edge and jump immediately. When the Slig’s  back is turned, get up. You must do all this quickly, or the bat will kill you. Now walk up to the edge of the screen. Wait until Slig comes back, then run into the next screen.  Chant if the birds are still there. If they aren’t, visit the other screen briefly, then come back.   Jump into portal.

Possess Slig. Go down one screen (with the Slig). Go down. Tell Mudokons “Look Out” and shoot Sligs. Blow your Slig up.

With Abe, go down one screen (forget the Mudokon on your level, you’ll get him later) and rescue Mudokons 34 and 35. Go left one screen, chant, exit.

            Screen Fourteen (45)

Jump over gap, go left.

            Screen Fifteen (46)

Run left, but be prepared to stop.

            Screen Sixteen (47)*

Stand one step away from the edge of the ledge. Immediately, when the Slig exits the screen, press space. You should land right in front of the bomb. Activate it, turn, and run-jump onto the left ledge. Wait until the Slig blows up. Get down from the ledge, and go right. Watch out for the bats!  

Hang down and drop.

Chant and jump into portal.

*  Hoist up, up, up, until you’re at the topmost screen. Walk across the top. When you reach the end of the ledge, go down, down, down… Until you’re at the very bottom. Stand right under the mine and walk two steps to the left. Turn. Press Z + right arrow key (hypothetically, throw it backwards. It won’t go backwards, but it throws very close and vertically). You should hit the mine.

Repeat with the mine on the other screen.

Now go to the screen where the first mine used to be and hoist. Go up until the only thing that separates you from the worker Mudokon is a wall. Say “Hello” and then say “Follow Me” two times. The Mudokon will fall.

Lead him to the bottom ramp. Rescue Mudokon 36.

                                    Repeat procedure with Mudokon 37.

Exit through portal.

            Screen Fourteen (45)

Jump over gap, run left.

            Screen Fifteen (46)

Keep running left…

            Screen Sixteen (47)

…And keep running left.

            Screen Seventeen (48)

Make sure the bats are gone, then drop down.

            Screen Eighteen (49)*

* While you’re on the top, go right. Stand at the very edge of the screen, then throw your rock up. Not all of the mines will blow up, but enough. Visit Screen Eighteen briefly, then come back. Chant. Jump through portal.

As soon as you appear in the secret area, roll forward and into the next screen. Once again, I will call the bottom Slig - Slig 1 and the top Slig - Slig 2. When the back of Slig 1 is turned, roll out of the tube and stand up in the shadow. When his back is turned again, hop to the next shadow. Keep doing that until you reach the last shadow. Wait until the backs of both Sligs are turned, hoist up, turn to the right, press Space, press Enter, and press the right arrow key. Stand up, chant. Slig 1 will run into a mine. Chant again, possessing Slig 2. Go to the previous screen, shoot all the Sligs, and blow up the Slig. With Abe, carefully roll out of the tube, hop, and walk left. Rescue Mudokon 38.

Drop down. Get a rock from the sack. Crouch. Roll left.

            Screen Nineteen (50)

Crouch 2 steps away from the edge of the screen and throw rock forward. Sneak left.

            Screen Twenty (51)

This part can be a little tricky. You have to sneak very close to the Slig for him not to notice you. You don't have to stop in every shadow, just go the entire way behind the Slig. Just stop at the last one and wait for the Slig to turn his back on you.

            Screen Twenty-One (52) *

* Get a rock from the sack. Crouch on the bottom level and roll to the left straight at the big rock. You will fall down. As soon as you get down, chant. Then step up to the very edge of the ledge and throw your rock up. If you have done everything correctly, both the mines will blow up.

Now run off the ledge and do the roll-run maneuver  so you don’t have to waste time crouching. Roll into the next screen. Run-jump onto the ledge, then run-jump off. Roll- run under the overhang and jump into the portal.

Sneak forward. On the next screen, hoist up onto the ramp and chant so that Mudokon 39 can escape. Unfortunately, this will waken the slog as well. While you’re on the ramp, walk left and chant. Go right again. Run-jump off of the left ramp and onto the right ramp. Now run-jump off the right ramp and run left, until you reach the portal. (end *)

There are two ways to do this part. I recommend the first one for the beginner, but for a more advanced player the second one would be quicker and more efficient. The second way shall be revealed in the link “shortcuts” on the home page, along with a bunch of other cheats and shortcuts, that may make your life easier, but may mess up your whole game.

  1. DO NOT BLOW UP THE MINE. Get a rock from the rock sack. Walk into next screen.

       Screen Twenty-Two (53)

Say “Hello” to the Slog. It will start chasing you. Run to the right (Don’t forget to jump over the mine!).

            Screen Twenty-One (52)

The slog will blow up. Now hoist and  run left.

            Screen Twenty-Two (53) *

Run left.

            Screen Twenty-Three (54)*

Walk off the ramp and then turn. Walk to the right.

Screen Twenty-Two (53) *

*Make sure the bats are gone. Drop down.

Once you’re at the screen below, chant. Jump into portal.

As soon as you reappear, start running. Keep running until you reach the ramp. Run-jump onto it and go into the door.

Run left. Rescue Mudokon 40. Keep running. Chant to open your own portal.

Run right and go into the door. When you come out,  run-jump off the ramp and run left. Jump into portal.

 

Get back to Screen Twenty-Three.

            Screen Twenty-Three (54)

Walk left, but be prepared to stop.

            Screen Twenty-Four (55)

Say “Hello” to the Slog. It will run after you. Run right.

            Screen Twenty-Three (54)

Run-jump off the ledge and into 

            Screen Twenty-Four (55)

Run left, jump over mine, run left, run-roll.

            Screen Twenty-Five (56)

If you don’t have any rocks left, go back and get them. Stand right under the Slog and throw the rock up. This should blow up the first mine and the Slog as well. Technically, you can jump over three mines, but if you like to live risk-free, I would recommend blowing up a couple more.

            Screen Twenty-Six (57)

 Run forward and run-jump off the edge. Enjoy the FMV!
